Introduction
Everything you need to set up clear specification and comparison tables on your Shopify store — explained step by step, no technical knowledge required.
What does the app do?
Specs & Compare helps you present product information in a way that is easy to read and easy to compare. It adds three kinds of elements to your store:
- Specification tables show the technical details of one product — for example the battery life, weight and connectivity of a pair of headphones — organized in clear groups.
- Comparison tables place several products side by side, reusing the same specifications, so shoppers can see the differences at a glance.
- Dynamic comparison Pro plan adds an “Add to compare” checkbox to product cards. Shoppers pick the products they hesitate between and get a comparison table instantly.
All tables are rendered by your theme, so they are fast, mobile-friendly, accessible and readable by search engines.
How is the documentation organized?
The documentation follows the order in which you will use the app:
- Getting started — install the app and learn the basics.
- Specification tables — design the structure of your tables: which information you want to show, and for which products.
- Products — fill in the values for each product and choose which products to compare.
- Show on your store — add the tables to your theme.
- Dynamic comparison, Appearance and Translations — go further.
- Developers — build fully custom experiences with Liquid, CSS and JavaScript.
